This should belong in a museum!! - this is such a fabulous piece of history - a real collector’s piece. The Diorling label was launched at the Christian Dior London boutique on Conduit Street in March 1968. Designed by Dior London head designer Jorn Langberg, the collection was ready-to-wear garments aimed at a young clientele. The name came from the perfume of the same moniker that launched in 1963. The line was created and designed by Jorn Langberg, Artistic Director of Christian Dior London. Pieces under this label stopped being produced in 1973. The number on the label most likely denoted a custom order. A similar coat was used in a photo shoot for the Feb 1970 issue of Vogue. It is an important part of Dior's history and pieces are held in museums around the world. This is a wonderful numbered navy and white spot frock coat, it is made of a woven fabric a thick brocade feel which gives structure and shape to this beautiful garment creating a fabulous silhouette. Notched collar, lightly padded shoulders for structure and a tapered sleeve shows off the beautiful cut. This fastens down the front with large round buttons Feature seams and panels create a fabulous nipped in waist and the back panels flare out . There is a faux belt detail at the back and vent - real attention to detail Fully lined with a contrasting burgundy silk lining. This really is a beautiful elegant showstopper.
