FENDI By KARL LAGERFELD Black Beaded Cocktail Dress F/W 07 2007 Size 38 Showcased on February 22, 2007, during the Fendi runway show in Milan, Italy modeled by Natasha Poly. Was the closing dress/garment of the F/W 2007 show finale. In excellent condition, there are a few tiny hairlike pulls in the nylon overlay. Not noticeable. The house of Fendi was launched in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi as a fur and leather shop in Via del Plebiscito, Rome. In 1932 Adele and Edoardo Fendi opened a boutique in via Piave; the shop became a popular destination for tourists in Rome. In 1946, the five sisters Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla, and Alda joined the company in its second generation as a family-owned enterprise. Karl Lagerfeld joined Fendi in 1965 and became the creative director for the fur and women's ready-to-wear collections. Karl Lagerfeld’s works were recently featured spring/summer 2023 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The opening of the exhibition was marked with The 2023 Met Gala with the feature being Karl Lagerfeld and all attendees were dressed to honor him and his work.
