"According to Frederick B. Adams, Jr., who secured his information from Glick and Coleman of the Viking Press, 'There was not enough light buff cloth available due to the war effort, so the bright "canary yellow" was selected to finish the first print run.'" Goldstone & Payne, p. 63 (A22b.). First Printing of the First Edition, second Issue/State binding, January 1945. The top/bottom of spine is slightly bumped, corners mildly bumped but still retaining sharpness with all pages fanning easily, top edge with "Blue Stain" indicating a first printing (see pics), some very light age toning to the interior and page edges, priced $2.00 original Dust Jacket which is in good-/good shape with some paper loss to the head (minor) and heel or toe of spine about 2 inches (see pics) and to flap fold and extremities(see pics), covers in good shape. "Cannery Row is just a few blocks long."  Back of it is the inviolate ocean. Within its limits are the sardine fisheries which the Row its name. Book is about Very Good-/Very Good or better condition." The spine is still tight with pages fanning easily. Blue lettering and blue rule lines on front cover of book, this would make an excellent gift to a friend or family member!
