   Manasquan is a borough in Monmouth County in the state of New Jersey.  The borough’s name is of “Lenape Native American” origin, deriving from “Menaskunk” meaning “Place to Gather Grass of Reeds”. It was formed as a borough by an act of the Legislature in 1887, from portions of Wall Township.     Point Pleasant Beach is a borough in Ocean County New Jersey and was incorporated as a borough by the legislature in 1886, from Brick Township. The borough is situated on the Barnegat Peninsula, a long, narrow barrier peninsula that divides the bay from the Atlantic Ocean at the Manasquan Inlet across from Manasquan.    This card, published by the “Star Stationary Co., Newark” and printed by the ‘Tichnor Bros”, chronicles the “Inlet between Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach”.  It is a linen postmarked 1943 and is in good condition with minor wear and a clean, clear image. (There are some featherings on the image but is not as pronounced on the card.   The reverse has a “Wish you were here” message, is addressed and clean The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.
